Graphite - depicting a breakdown in their relationship

Pallozas are thick walled thatched houses dating back to Celtic times, now generally used for storage. I was experimenting with my new micro palm tools for the detail.

Acrylic on canvas. 40cmx50cm. Finally decided I can’t tinker with this any more. First time I’ve painted on canvas. Also I’ve not used acrylic on anything this big before and it took a while to get used to how they move and cover the canvas so big learning curve, still ongoing

I used exactly the same colours in each images the only difference was the colour of paper I worked on. The change in colour changes the 'mood' of the piece. Making one feel warm, another cool, another fresh. What didn't you think?

I created this linocut based on a modified still life of sunflowers. After printing with black ink and the prints had dried, I hand coloured one of the prints with watercolour.

Not perfect, a bit rough and ready, but I was pleased to get it printed by the end of term.

5B graphite pencil

I spent most of the lesson painting this so 90 minutes. This allowed me more time to complete the sketch adding background as well which I didn't have time for in the much shortest demonstrations during the in person lessons.

Inktense pencils, crayons, oil pastels, watercolours and posca pens. I tried to use wax resist to do a pattern on the bowl but it didn’t really work this time.

Acrylic, from a b/w photo - 1920s maybe Sheep were thrown in at the top. I'm not sure whether the men In barrels are searching for sheep or mixing in more hazardous chemicals. Health & Safety? - a distant concept!

I used acrylic paints for this. The picture I copied is very small so I had to use a grid and enlarge it that way. There are a couple of egrets on the Rife near Ferring which we often see when out for a walk. I struggled to crop it .
