I loved doing this, the paint is so striking when it dries.
Sonia, Helen and I go to a great tutor in Littlehampton. When things are back to normal I'll let you know when her courses are.
Many thanks Tricia.
Many thanks Sonia, that would be great. Hopefully I can try it out before we go back to classes.
Hi George, Xian paper (pronounced shwone) is one of the basic white papers used for Chinese brush painting, it’s quite a thin paper, I can bring some to show you when we are back in class. If you want?
I have never heard of xian paper. Lovely images. Another thing to try out.
Xian paper is a handmade Chinese paper. It has very long fibers, so is really strong even though it's really thin.
@Tricia Johnson Thank you Tricia. I intend to get a book on Chinese painting and its history.
Looks like you have to be very confident with the brush strokes. Effective.
The black xian is slightly heavier but pretty much the same as moon palace I would say.
I'll have to give it a try. Thanks
I've never worked on black Xian. Is it very different to natural coloured paper? I guess. The interface paint is a heavier body to sit on the surface.
