Ok! I know this is not brilliant but I have laboured over this for week or so. I started this last Sunday and on Monday I wiped the whole painting back to the gesso and started again as I was not happy with it at all. I’m sort of happier with it now but I can do better. Any comments to improve it are most welcome!

I actually like the sky and the landscape below it but the styles adopted appear to me different. The clouds are nicely painted but quite traditional. The rest of the painting has a more modernist/ contemporary feel to it, with a saturated , bright palette. The way Eric Ravilious depicts clouds could perhaps work here but I would also try using some of your vivid colours in the sky to unify the whole painting. But then I like bright, vivid colours!
I love the sky, clouds and distant mountains. The yellow is okay, although it does draw the eye away from the depth in the scene, but it is a great pop of colour. The green I really didn't like. I guess it's a mix between the blue and yellow, but the colour is so fake looking. I think I could chop the bottom off the painting and be really happy to hang that in my house.
