Gathering and grouping potential “collagable” materials does seem a preliminary step of relevance...so here one isstarting to do so..plus also some further kinds of semantic linked subjects...I saw a Peter Blake documentary..on sky arts tv..yesterday..he being a noted pop art collagist and noted also he gathered pop objects also for..collections type item “collages”...also a bit like something Warhol did..gathered pop items...so that has been very interesting to me..PLUS also been reading some great books on contemprary art..eg What Are You Looking At...a recent book saying very interesting points about many....just got into topics on Schopenhauer ( the artistic realms of meaning )..Kandinsky etc...plus Orphism..(music relating to painting etc)...all from chapters from this book...plus some others...very informative on all these developing subjects..eg Kandinskay did numerous semi abstract street compositions..in a highly interesting aesthetic outlook...SO...all these things are brewing pkus more...meantime..am tempted to do a really glam street derived collage eg from sweet wrapping papers or anything shiny...initially has thought the gold sweet paper could become a saxophone representation for a figure....as earlier also was miming a sax and a Bit of jazz lyric in a then unrelated modelling posing of person plus instrument performance...um..”supra associative collage assemblage..yeh!”
Lots of planning and ideas....all you need now is a bit more collage.😉I looks like you really have a lot of ideas here, try to focus on one or two and see where they take you.
After the last 100Sketches class i looked into collage and new senses of abstract as meaning “taken from”...plus collage combinations from further subjectively linked sources...like a “semantic vortex “ in becoming....So this is initial steps combining a version in pencik of the source sketch street scape plus collage from newspaper sources that have a meaning for me plus incorporating a recent meaning issue from recent news pic of a fashion figure in the news....plus combining with an abstracted sociocultural comment that intrigued or ruffled me lately and this art attempt helped me explore...And also from the class i took to looking up Richard Hamilton and read articles about his famous collage and updated versions plus then watched videos on u tube about Andy Warhol and pop art and realised these famous artists really did open up grounds of new approaches to what can be subjects and methods of contemporary art...so..i was feeling a bit moody but got onto doing this...it is an early exploration of what it is...Also sorted out a new table space so that i can have ongoing work of the week or current works inprogress ready to keep returning to...
I think ...regarding Trish..what you asked aboutmulti pic uploads came from having pics taken first and stored on mobile phone or pc files...so that i could then select a number to simultaneously upload them...via the photo icon for uploads here lower left..ie. Have the pics stored on file so you can then select more than one when pressing the icon and going to files...
Note...i did upload these pics to..get on with it from initial adhoc pics i had taken of recent sketches...a main aim for me was to get on and experience how to upload and then start to reflect on it...online beginnings
..by which i mean..hence the adhoc look..aware in time perhaps to put effort into tidier pics..though hey yes it coukd have a fun adhoc effect as done...but..early steps
Yes Trish...(I w ill try and recall what I did i think it seemed simple to do at the time...)..This uploading was as a first step in uploading online for me..which seems to mean..first do a work...then photo it..then upload..having already established an online webpage to go to...so quite some steps involved in approaching this new contemporary perhaps growing mode of online artspace
It getting the work done first.Set up a website/page or create the artwork.Once its done it's always there for the future. But the initial work takes a while, for sure.
Wow. Fantastic, so much work!My favourite is lovely bright primary colour painted sketch with the tree. Its so vibrant. You have some great sketches in there and its great you are feeling more comfortable using colour and working quite spontaneously. I love your artist "garret" vibe you've got going on.Lastly, you need to teach me how to get so many images on a post. I only seem to be able to put one on and then have to add the rest in the comments.
yes..some momentums and posibilities are starting to gather thanks
