Spanish Palloza - Lino print using Chine Collé method

Pallozas are thick walled thatched houses dating back to Celtic times, now generally used for storage. I was experimenting with my new micro palm tools for the detail.

Very interesting design, it feels very solid and anchored in the space.

What size is your print?

Did you think about carving a background or was this your original design?

Thanks Tricia! Lino is 6 x 4”. I was going to put some cloud shading above the building, but it looked a bit naff! But really I wanted to just concentrate on the building. You are probably right, it might improve with a background but I’d possibly just do that in the burnt umber so as not to distract. Helen

I'm not sure it needs a background. Just wondered if you had started with one, then removed it. It looks effective the way it is.
